Pro Landscaper Project Awards 2025 Winner Design £100,000 – £250,000
We are delighted to have won the Design £100,000 to £250,000 award in the Pro Landscaper’s Project Awards 2025 for our Eaton Square Roof Terrace.
Maïtanne Hunt Gardens & Terraces transformed a bland exposed penthouse roof terrace into a multifunctional green space so our clients can now enjoy the amazing city views whilst entertaining and unwinding.
Evergreen trees and a bespoke pergola create discrete zones; for reading under the grapevine-covered pergola, cooking and dining at the bespoke bar, and relaxing in the dappled shade of the juniper.
Planters packed with colourful perennials and swaying grasses border the area, attracting insects and birds – the ones nearest the kitchen-cum-bar area are crammed with cooking herbs and the sedum-covered storage unit is interplanted with mint, perfect for Pimms!
BALI National Landscape Awards Winner 2023
We are proud to announce that in conjunction with The Garden Builders, Maïtanne Hunt Garden & Landscapes were a principal award winner in the “Accredited Contractor & Accredited Designer Joint Submission” category at this year’s BALI National Landscape Awards 2023. The joint submission was for our work transforming a Kensington Roof Terrace into a colourful year-round space.
The BALI judges commented: “The designer has delivered a strong, simple design that works extremely well in its location. The build, however, was complex with a number of major challenges along the way. Working together as a team, designer and contractor overcame those challenges, finding solutions whilst maintaining their joint sustainability ethos.”
The judges also said “A delightful, elegant scheme which was fraught with issues and complications, not to mention the access problems throughout the build and the requirement to re waterproof the roof structure. An extremely comprehensive submission pack told the story well with plenty of information to assess the design elements as well as an indication of the build – would have been useful to have had the contractor on site but Maitanne covered this well. Overall, a logistically complicated build, well delivered to the satisfaction of all concerned. Congratulations to all involved.”
Pro Landscaper Project Awards Supreme Winner 2023
We are amazed, and delighted, to have not only won the Outdoor Lighting Project Under £35,000 in the Pro Landscaper’s Project Awards 2023 for the “Sky Entertaining” project (Kensington Roof Terrace), Maïtanne Hunt also took home the Supreme Winner award!
The exposed roof terrace was transformed into a sophisticated and functional entertainment space, offering privacy and protection from the elements. The clients, who enjoy a very busy social life and are keen art lovers, were hoping to revive their terrace into a practical and inviting space and also to offer a magical setting for their parties.
Maïtanne Hunt used a carefully planned lighting design to reveal what the clients wanted to show off and conceal what they did not. The clients’ terrace is metamorphosed at night into another spectacular setting, benefitting the clients’ sophisticated style and drawing endless compliments.
Hunt says John Cullen’s range of exterior light fittings for this project proved to be an excellent choice to make the most of any landscape or garden at night. The sophisticated lighting highlights the zones and design features, and enables late night entertainment, with the help of a firepit and discreet heaters.
The judges commented:
“There are some fabulous ideas incorporated into the design and using the lighting to define the spaces is a great idea.”
“A masterful use of lighting to create a magical space.”
“An excellent understanding of how aesthetic and practical lighting works in a garden as well as a technical understanding of the fittings and light output / lumens.”
Shortlisted for Pro Landscaper’s Big Impact Awards 2020
We are honoured to have been shortlisted for Pro Landscaper’s 2020 small project BIG IMPACT Awards 2020.
Now in their third year, the awards celebrate projects with a value under £25,000, which often go under appreciated.
Maïtanne Hunt Gardens & Landscapes has been nominated in the Plantings Design under £20,000 category.
The ceremony will be held on Wednesday 18 November at 5pm as part of the FutureScape Virtual 2020 event, which will take place online from 17 to 19 November.
Jim Wilkinson, managing director of Eljays44 which hosts the awards, says: “Now in its third year, Pro Landscaper’s small project BIG IMPACT Awards has really established itself as an essential part of the UK landscaping diary. We all know the importance of this sector and the unbelievable challenges it faces to design and build a beautiful garden on a budget of under £25k. But whatever the budget, clients’ expectations are high, and the companies shortlisted have certainly delivered again this year.”
